EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — May 25, 2017 – Today, The Manufacturing Institute released a new Dream It. Do It. promotional video to support their manufacturing career awareness campaign. The video captures students participating in summer academies and other activities across the country that expose youth to manufacturing processes and careers.

The video was made possible by Dream It. Do It. Connecticut (Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc.), Dream It. Do It. West Virginia (Robert C. Byrd Institute), Toyota Foundation, and Cooper Tire & Rubber Company.

“Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. is a leading voice for manufacturing careers, and its Young Manufacturers Academies and  Making It Real Summits for girls have exposed thousands of students to the opportunities in our industry,” said Brent Weil, senior vice president at The Manufacturing Institute. “This new video features many of Connecticut’s brightest who represent the future of our industry. We thank Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. for its continued leadership and predict this video will inspire others to pursue careers in our high-tech, creative, and innovative industry.”

Licensed and led by the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) and funded by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development’s Manufacturing Innovation Fund, Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. is part of The Manufacturing Institute’s nationwide Dream It. Do It. program that works to inspire the next-generation to pursue manufacturing careers and change the perception of the industry.

Dream It. Do It. members include 43 state and regional organizations, as well as company leaders and manufacturing associations that access support, branding, and an ever-expanding toolkit of best practices and resources. These Dream It. Do It. partners gathered earlier this week for an annual collaborative learning conference at Harper College in Palatine, IL.
