Connecticut manufacturers are once again proving they have the talent, technology, and expertise to support the most ambitious missions in aerospace. At a recent NASA supplier outreach event hosted at the University of Hartford, more than 40 local companies gathered to explore opportunities to contribute to Artemis—the program that will return humans to the moon and pave the way for future exploration of Mars and beyond.
NASA’s message was clear: they’re not doing this alone.
“We need businesses just like you,” said Dr. Sharon Cobb, NASA Associate Program Manager, emphasizing the need for innovation and precision manufacturing partners to help deliver on this historic mission. From advanced materials to high-performance components, Connecticut’s aerospace supply chain is uniquely positioned to meet these challenges and help shape the future of space exploration.
CCAT President and CEO Ron Angelo echoed the opportunity this presents for local companies:
“It’s incredibly exciting, and it’s incredibly rewarding. This is an opportunity you’re really going to want to take advantage of.”
With decades of experience supporting aerospace and defense manufacturers, CCAT helps small and mid-sized businesses access the tools, training, and technology needed to meet NASA’s stringent requirements and connect with prime contractors driving these projects forward.
From developing parts for next-generation aircraft to creating components that will travel beyond Earth’s orbit, Connecticut manufacturers are ready to make their mark on space history. NASA is actively looking for partners, and CCAT stands ready to guide manufacturers in securing their place in this groundbreaking era of exploration.
