East Hartford, CT (June 19, 2025) – The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) is proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Bond as its new Executive Director.
Andrew joins CCAT at a transformative time, as our incredible teams continue to scale our programs and expand our impact. Andrew’s addition marks the forward momentum in strengthening CCAT’s leadership and strategic direction.
As Executive Director of CCAT, Bond will serve as a senior member of the organization’s executive leadership team, leading the development and execution of strategic initiatives and enhancing organizational infrastructure.
With more than 25 years of experience in engineering, shipbuilding, and the defense industrial base, Bond brings a wealth of expertise driving major organizational change, building high-performing teams, and delivering operational excellence across complex and manufacturing-driven settings and complex industrial operations. In his most recent role, Bond served as Vice President of Planning at General Dynamics Electric Boat, where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of planning and construction readiness of the Columbia and Virginia class submarine programs.

Bond is a recognized leader in workforce development and industrial change and adoption. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of ReadyCT, a nonprofit championing educational equity across Connecticut, and has previously served on the Connecticut Governor’s Workforce Council and the Eastern Connecticut Advanced Manufacturing Association Regional Sector Partnership (EAMA RSP), where he played a key role in shaping regional talent pipelines. Andrew holds a bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute and a master’s degree in System Design and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), reflecting his deep technical foundation and strategic vision.
