On Tuesday, CCAT joined Connecticut manufacturers and innovators at the State Capitol building to celebrate Manufacturing Innovation Day, hosted by CBIA. The event kicked off with a presentation from CBIA President & CEO Joe Brennan, Chair of the CBIA Board of Directors and President of Pegasus Manufacturing Chris DiPentima and Vice President of Business Development at Stanley Black & Decker, Marty Guay. Topics discussed included the importance of collaborations in Connecticut, the increase of automation, the growing workforce starting in high school and colleges, and the corresponding need to adapt to the changing future.
Following the opening remarks, a Manufacturing Showcase was held in the lobby where employers showcased their companies, networked with legislators to promote and educate about the type of manufacturing that exists within our state, and discussed future opportunities.
CCAT’s booth was represented by Workforce Program Specialist Monica Perez and Manufacturing Research & Applications Engineer Nasir Mannan, who explained CCAT’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and emerging technologies.
