SOUTHBURY – Some 200 middle school-aged students left their classrooms Wednesday and traveled to the Heritage Hotel in Southbury for Manufacturing Mania, an event organized by the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc.
For manufacturers it was a chance to introduce students to an industry in need of a future skilled workforce. According to the center, statewide there are nearly 6,000 manufacturing companies that employ about 164,000 people.
