EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — The Connecticut Office of Energy Efficient Businesses (OEEB) is expanding its services to businesses in the City of Torrington beginning June 6. OEEB’s energy outreach specialists will meet with businesses to identify ways to reduce energy consumption and increase savings from energy efficiency work, energy procurement, fuel switching, and use of renewables. OEEB can also examine energy bills to determine whether the business can obtain a more favorable rate for natural gas and/or electric generation service.
“We will be approaching over 260 small to medium-sized businesses and manufacturing facilities in Torrington to provide guidance and information that support intelligent business decisions,” said Joel M. Rinebold, director of energy at CCAT.
The OEEB, administered by the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc. (CCAT), is funded by the U. S. Department of Energy through the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). The OEEB offers free, objective assistance that does not obligate the business to purchase any program offerings. OEEB is coordinating with the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP), the CT Green Bank, and Eversource.
“There are many opportunities through Energize CT and the Connecticut Green Bank to make lasting energy improvements that will save businesses money”, stated Mackey Dykes, vice president commercial and industrial programs at the Connecticut Green Bank.
Business owners can contact OEEB to schedule an assessment at 860-291-8832 or at email@example.com.
