FuelCell Energy pushes industry forward

On Triangle Street, a stone’s throw from the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles, FuelCell Energy is building a power plant that will produce enough electricity to light up 3,700 homes.

Other than drawing power from the plant, the neighbors will likely never know the plant is there. It will produce few emissions and not make noise. It will not dominate the skyline and will sit on just a quarter of an acre. It is expected to be finished in less than a year.

“It will be the most efficient power plant in the world,” FuelCell Energy President and CEO Chip Bottone said in a conference room at the company’s Danbury headquarters. “We’ll have people from all over the world coming to Danbury to look at it.”
