CROMWELL — More than 200 middle school students from nine schools participated in the recent fifth annual “Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. Manufacturing Mania” at the Radisson Inn in Cromwell.
The event kicked off “Connecticut. Dream It. Do It.” Manufacturing Month, proclaimed by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy to recognize the importance of the more than 5,000 Connecticut manufacturing companies to the state’s economy and to highlight industry career opportunities.
Students were introduced to manufacturing through team-based activities that replicate the manufacturing process from concept to design to fabrication to quality control. They had the chance to learn first-hand from manufacturers about rapid advances in manufacturing technology and future career opportunities.
