Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Chief Technology Officer Tom Maloney took part in the Pratt & Whitney Innovation & Invention Forum at the Pratt Hangar in East Hartford, Conn. on Thursday, May 31.

Maloney discussed CCAT’s role in driving smart technologies and recommended employees visit CCAT’s Advanced Manufacturing Center, which can play a role in helping them focus on quickly maturing manufacturing technologies to accelerate cost-reduction opportunities. Maloney discussed specific capabilities, examples of work being done with UTC, and initiatives with other manufacturers. The panel was one of a series of events as Pratt celebrated innovation and the contribution of patent award winners. Following opening remarks by Dave Carter, P&W’s senior vice president of engineering, Dr. Michael Winter convened a panel that included Maloney, Venkat Vedula and Peter Smith of UTC Aerospace Systems, and Troy Prince and Ben Reinert of Pratt & Whitney.

Additionally, CCAT’s Advanced Manufacturing Center exhibited at the event, displaying our latest additive manufacturing, precision machining, and scanning technology capabilities.
