FARMINGTON, CT — U.S. Senator Chris Murphy announced Monday that TRUMPF Inc. of Farmington is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.”

Founded in 1969, TRUMPF Inc. manufacturers fabricating machinery and laser technology for sheet metal processing. They are currently the largest manufacturer of fabricating equipment and industrial lasers in North America, and export their products to customers in all 50 states and more than 35 countries. TRUMPF Inc.’s 473 Connecticut workers build various types of lasers and machine tools out of their 400,000 square foot Farmington facility. The facility also boasts R&D laboratories, a technology center for demonstrations and application support, and a training center certified through The International Association for Continuing Education and Training. TRUMPF Inc. is the largest subsidiary of the German-based TRUMPF Group.

Between fiscal years 2016 and 2017, TRUMPF Inc. increased their sales revenue by nearly 14.7 percent to $577 million. Earlier this year, the Farmington manufacturer announced the development of new laser cutting machine nozzles, called Highspeed and Highspeed Eco, that – when compared to the use of standard nozzles – reduce gas consumption by up to 70 percent and double the sheet throughput.
