Introduction to 3D Printing/Additive Manufacturing – An Overview of the Adoption of AM Into Traditional Manufacturing
October 11 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Additive Manufacturing (AM) is a powerful set of tools and technologies that can be used by almost every industry to make aids to support traditional manufacturing, speed the design and prototype life cycle, enhance repair and MRO, and create end use parts. This workshop will provide an overview of what 3D printing/additive manufacturing is, and how and why Manufacturers are using it today to enhance their existing manufacturing processes and create new business opportunities. We will look at the range of materials and processes being used in AM to gain a better understanding of when adding AM makes sense, and examine business cases and gain insight from companies that are on their own AM journey.
