Pathways to STEM Night: Careers in Manufacturing

Calling all high school students and families! Explore fulfilling careers in manufacturing with us at the Connecticut Science Center.

Are you fascinated by science and technology?  Do you enjoy building and creating with your own hands? A career in manufacturing might be for you, and Pathways to STEM Night, hosted by the Connecticut Science Center and the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, is the perfect place to start.  Learn everything you need to know about pursuing this exciting career and start building your plan for the future. This event is NOT you average college career fair. Explore the galleries and network with manufacturing employers, meet with schools and training programs, attend a panel featuring young rising professionals, participate in a Junior Achievement workshop, and try your hand at STEM challenges. All are FREE!

5:00pm                Doors Open for check-in
5:00 – 8:00pm    Explore the galleries throughout the evening to meet with Employers and Education support programs (camps, clubs, etc.)
5:30 – 6:15pm      Career Pathways Panel with opening remarks by Paul Lavoie, Chief Manufacturing Officer, State of Connecticut

Panel discussion facilitated by Dr. Coleen Bielitz, SCSU Professor and Chair of Million Women Mentors, CT Chapter

My Career Goals
– Recognize the connections between choices in Education, Personal Finances and Career Paths
– Create short and long term goals
– Identify character traits that help students overcome obstacles and achieve career goals
