Introduction to Manufacturing Careers for Educators
January 24, 2020 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Today’s manufacturing industry offers a variety of career opportunities for students with interests in art, gaming, inventing, building, and more. There are nearly 4,000 manufacturing companies in Connecticut that employ over 160,000 workers, and training for a manufacturing career is now easily accessible and facilitates a clear pathway for career growth.
This workshop will discuss manufacturing in Connecticut, how the industry is evolving, and available career opportunities and pathways. Participants will also receive a tour of CCAT’s Advanced Manufacturing Center. This is a great workshop for educators of grades K-16 interested in learning about what manufacturing looks like today and how their students can get a head start on preparing for a rewarding career in the industry.
Registration is required and the cost to participate is $100 per person. Schools registering a group of ten or more participants will receive a reduced cost of $75 per person. This workshop will need a minimum of six attendees to run.
This workshop is part of CCAT’s Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. Workshops for Educators Series and will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Light refreshments will be provided.
