EAST HARTFORD, Conn. – On September 11, 2012 the College of Nanoscale Science of Engineering (CNSE), the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the Northeast Electrochemical and Energy Storage Cluster (NEESC) will host the Ticket to Ride: A Regional Roadmap for Hydrogen Infrastructure and Fuel Cells. The objectives of the Ticket-to-Ride event are to discuss opportunities and challenges in the Northeast for deployment of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEL); hydrogen production infrastructure; the economics, planning and strategy of transportation systems; and market identification for stationary and forklift applications. The event will be held at the CNSE Albany Nanotech Complex in Albany, NY.
The event will open with a keynote address by Sunita Satyapal of the US Department of Energy. Matt Fronk of Matt Fronk & Associates, will moderate a panel on automotive plans for deployment. Joel Rinebold of Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. (CCAT) and NEESC, will moderate a panel on hydrogen production infrastructure and economics, planning and strategy. Pradeep Haldar of CNSE will facilitate a panel on market identification for stationary and fork lift applications. A ride and drive will be held in the afternoon, featuring FCEVs.
Major industry corporations will be participating in the event including the following: hydrogen and fuel cell companies Air Products, Linde, Nuvera, Praxair, and Proton OnSite; fuel cell and forklift technology manufacturers Plug Power, Raymond, UTC Power, and FuelCell Energy; and automakers Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai.
