NERDIC Industry 4.0 Readiness Ecosystem: Augmented Reality for Industry 4.0 – What is it and how does it help your manufacturing process?
April 27, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
This introductory workshop is part of the NERDIC Industry 4.0 Readiness Ecosystem program for the New England defense supply chain. For more information, please visit ccat.us/NERDIC.
Augmented Reality is the overlaying of digital content into the physical environment. Specifically, to manufacturing, this can include any type of virtual parts, data, photos, videos, and work instructions. These assets can be transposed on to a machine in the real world for easier training and troubleshooting through a device such as a phone or headset. Our engagement with CCAT is specific to HoloLens 2 which is an advanced augmented reality headset created by Microsoft. HoloLens 2 has comprehensive voice recognition, gesture recognition and is a hands-free heads-up display.
Workshop participants will be invited to apply to participate in a pilot demonstration project utilizing this technology.
This session will be recorded and made available on-demand.
Learn how augmented reality can:
• Expedite training and onboarding
• Standardize work and procedures for employees
• Improve remote troubleshooting
• Reduce travel to physical locations with virtual tools
