Introduction to Model Based Definition with PMI

March 31 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join CCAT and Swoosh Technologies & Solutions for this MBD webinar.   Model Based Definition (MBD) is the process of using an annotated 3D CAD model that includes semantic PMI (product manufacturing information a.k.a. manufacturing data for building & measuring) to be the definitive authority downstream throughout the product lifecycle.

In this webinar you will learn about current tools in Siemens NX that automate and integrate part data and enable further automation in manufacturing and inspection.

New tools allow fast and automated location and form tolerancing using rules. This tolerancing is baked into the model. You will also see how it is opened later to enable automation and smart manufacturing. Finished parts can be inspected when the CMM is programmed based on this model.

This free webinar serves as a short course to get you up to speed on the state of Model Based Definition (MBD). Semantic Part Manufacturing Information (PMI) is now part of the model based definition. This allows manufacturing and inspection workflows to automatically import and program some data.   You will also understand how it is made, transferred (STEP 242 etc.), and consumed (used) to drive efficient manufacturing and inspection.

A leading defense company saved over 80% by using a model based definition workflow.

Target audience: Engineering and manufacturing, inspection and metrology
