Don Balducci serves as director of CCAT’s Advanced Manufacturing Center responsible for conducting site reviews for small and medium-sized enterprises to assess their operations, recommend improvement projects, and validate that the projects and the consulting support meet the high standards held by the CCAT team. As a senior executive, he has more than 40 years of experience working in and managing national and international companies in industries including: aerospace and defense, automotive and commercial truck, consumer and industrial tools, glass, steel mills, consumer and commercial hardware, plastics (extrusion and molding), automatic door manufacturing, furniture, mobile home, and fastening. Balducci’s expertise includes acquisitions, turnarounds, lean principle-based operational transformations, sales, general management, strategy development and deployment in both industry and consulting roles. He has more than 10 years of experience with a private equity firm, responsible for due-diligence and driving substantial cash flow improvements into several portfolio companies in the U.S. and Europe. He has held the positions of chief executive officer and president, vice president of operations and engineering, and vice president of manufacturing and technology. Balducci holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from Central Connecticut State University and a master’s degree in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a member of the Connecticut Manufacturing Innovation Fund Advisory Board and Central Connecticcut State University Technology Management Industrial Advisory Board.
