Alyce Stiles has joined the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology (CCAT) in East Hartford as the Associate Director of Experiential STEM Education. In this new role, Alyce will oversee the delivery of the Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. activities, including the highly-successful summer and in-school Young Manufacturers Academy programs across the state and the annual Manufacturing Mania and Making it Real: Girls & Manufacturing Summit. Alyce will leverage over 20 years of experience working in manufacturing and educational organizations to lead CCAT’s innovative Science, Technology, Engineering and Math educational programs that raise awareness about STEM fields and careers, particularly in Manufacturing and Technology sectors.
Prior to joining CCAT, Alyce was the Dean of Workforce Development & Community Education at Greenfield Community College overseeing vocational and personal enrichment workshops and trainings. A Food Scientist by training, Alyce holds B.S. cum laude and M.S. degrees from Rutgers University and has held product development and project management positions for global manufacturers such as Kraft Foods, Nabisco Foods and Yankee Candle. She has taught math and science classes at the high school and community college levels in Western MA and Austin, TX.
Alyce is passionate about inspiring students of all ages, particularly those that are currently under-represented in the industry, to consider participating in careers with manufacturing and technology companies here in CT. She looks forward to expanding CCAT’s programs so that even more CT students are exposed to engaging, context-based STEM and manufacturing activities.
