CT Energy Services Available to Watertown Businesses

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. — May 13, 2017 — The Connecticut Office of Energy Efficient Businesses (OEEB) is expanding its services to businesses in the town of Watertown beginning May 16. OEEB’s energy outreach specialists will meet with businesses to identify ways to reduce energy consumption and increase savings from energy efficiency work, energy procurement, fuel switching, and use of renewables. OEEB can also examine energy bills to determine whether the business can obtain a more favorable rate for natural gas and/or electric generation service.

“We are approaching small to medium-sized businesses and manufacturing facilities to provide guidance and information that support intelligent business decisions,” said Joel M. Rinebold, director of energy, Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc. (CCAT).

The OEEB, administered by CCAT, is funded by the U. S. Department of Energy through the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). The OEEB offers free, objective assistance that does not obligate the business to purchase any program offerings. OEEB is coordinating with DEEP, Connecticut Green Bank, and Eversource.

“There are many opportunities through Energize Connecticut and Connecticut Green Bank to make lasting energy improvements that will save businesses money”, stated Mackey Dykes, vice president commercial and industrial programs, Connecticut Green Bank. The OEEB, administered by CCAT, is funded by the U.
