FuelCell officials hope proposed legislation will aid energy procurement in CT

(New Haven Register, 2/22/17) – Officials at FuelCell Energy are hopeful a piece of legislation promoting the use of fuel cells the Danbury-based company produces will have a positive impact on future energy procurement efforts by Connecticut’s electric utilities.

Company officials have been pressing for state officials to find ways to give the fuel cell industry equal footing with other renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. FuelCell Energy officials are still smarting over a decision by Connecticut and Massachusetts officials last year to reject a bid by a Beacon Falls fuel cell farm for inclusion in multi-renewable energy procurement.
