Goodwin College as the title sponsor, is hosting the awards ceremony and serving as judges. Maffe Foundation is sponsoring the scholarship prizes and has offered to be the title sponsor at next year's Lemonade Day. Ace Hardware is donating paint and paint brushes to any team in need. UCONN football athletes are participating by serving as mentors for several of the teams. And others are stepping up to serve as judges for the program's contests. East Hartford's own Mayor will serve, and The Farmer's Cow's Farmer's Daughter's Lemonade will be on hand to provide an expert opinion on the quality of the products sold.
Lemonade Day was started four years ago in Houston, Texas, by Prepared4Life. This event is a fun and engaging educational program that promotes the ideas of entrepreneurship, business ownership, and community giving. This program is open to children living or going to school in East Hartford.
