EAST HARTFORD, CT - Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc. (CCAT) and Yasda Precision Tools are pleased to announce the arrival of Yasda's state of the art 5-axis precision machining center, the H40i, to CCAT's Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC). Yasda is well known for its manufacture of machining centers with high precision and high durability characteristics. The expansion of the AMC to include this technology is a milestone in CCAT's development of a center for machining excellence.
The H40i is ideal in highly accurate & efficient applications in aerospace component, die mold and other complicated, work piece machining. Ideal for precision applications demanding tight tolerances, the H40i offers high accuracy and high efficiency in complicated simultaneous 5-axis ap plications. A lightened spindle and column unit improves responsiveness while maintaining the rigidity of the machine bed, and synchronized positioning of each axis as shown in the data of "simultaneous 5-axis cutting" achieves greater simultaneity by superior balance between linear axes and rotary axes. The H40i features a double face, contact type spindle as standard for high speed and high accuracy machining. A large inverter cooler, plus cooling system for the spindle jacket minimizes power loss of the spindle during high speed operation. All Yasda's products, including the H40i, consist of the principle of manufacturing, "More accurate machinings than the accuracy of the machine itself is impossible." This is the same concept behind the JIG BORER, which Yasda also produces. To learn more about the H40i please visit www.yasda.com.
The H40i will be situated at CCAT's Machining Applications Laboratory (MAL) located at the AMC. The precision machining center provides the ability to machine a wide range of parts and materials with increased efficiency. The unique capabilities of this machine will allow local and regional manufacturers to test out new machining processes for operating efficiency improvement.
"CCAT's knowledge of the needs of the manufacturing community allows us to continuously find and present innovative technologies designed to enhance efficiency and flexibility," commented Elliot A. Ginsberg, President & CEO of CCAT. "The Yasda H40i supports CCAT's continued commitment to enhancing the competitive advantage of manufacturers."
The machine will be available for demonstrations upon request and also for companies interested in working with CCAT to improve their machining efficiencies through cycle time optimization.
