Commercial Aerospace and Clean Energy Sessions
at China Trade Day
EAST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology Inc. (CCAT) is partnering with the US Department of Commerce to present a China Trade Day Conference on June 11 at Wesleyan University, Middletown, Conn. The conference will include special sessions about commercial aerospace and clean energy export opportunities to China.
The Chinese economy continues to strengthen with growth projections in 2012 of 7.5 percent, and in 2013 of 8.3 to 8.8 percent. This positive economic outlook presents solid business opportunities for U.S. companies.
“The aerospace and clean energy markets are among China’s leading industries,” stated Elliot Ginsberg, CCAT president & CEO. “Connecticut is home to world leaders in aerospace and the research, design, and manufacturing of hydrogen and fuel cell technology. With more than 1,000 aerospace companies and a growing base of clean energy firms in the region, we felt it was imperative to support sessions directly related to these market sectors as part of the China Trade Day Conference.”
Landon Loomis of the US Commercial Service in Beijing will provide an overview of China’s commercial aerospace market during the Aerospace Focused Panel Session from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Attendees will learn about export compliance issues and gain insights from major companies currently conducting business with China.
Clean energy opportunities and challenges will be discussed in the Clean Energy Focused Panel Session from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. The session will feature Andrew Gately from the US Commercial Service China Clean Energy Initiative. Joel Rinebold, director for CCAT’s energy programs, will moderate the panel discussion.
“Offering a special session about how to expand into China’s clean energy market is a valuable and important service that we can provide to our regional companies to help them grow in today’s global energy market,” said Rinebold.
