2009 Paris Air Show Exhibit

CCAT lead a team of 22 Connecticut companies to the Paris Air Show in June 2009 – part of a unique marketing opportunity designed to showcase Connecticut’s world class aerospace suppliers at an international event.

The air show was held from June 15th to June 21st.  This was the fourth Air Show Exhibit Program (ASEP) organized by CCAT and included the largest contingency of companies in the three-year history of the program.  The 2009 group included 8 new companies and 14 that have participated in the past.  Each of the 22 companies exhibited in a 96 square meter, State of Connecticut booth.  The booth included several small meeting areas, 2 large video monitors, graphic displays showing products and services made in Connecticut, and static displays from Corsair, SPX and Pratt & Whitney.

The goal of the ASEP program is to provide international exposure and assistance in locating new customers for Connecticut aerospace companies.  In return, CCAT and the State hopes these new customers will lead to new business and job growth, thus contributing to the health of the region’s economy.  The Paris Air Show, one of the industry’s largest air shows, represents an ideal venue to meet this goal.  A special State of Connecticut event was planned for Wednesday afternoon, June 17th .  Previously invited executives and dignitaries gathered at the exhibit to meet with suppliers and state dignitaries.  The event was sponsored by Northeast Utilities.

To date, the ASEP program has been a tremendous success: over $13 million in contracts signed with customers met at Farnborough and Paris since 2006.  Routinely, these international air shows draw more than 500,000 attendees and 1,500 exhibitors – including all major OEMs – over a seven day span.

The theme for the State of Connecticut booth is: Connect to Connecticut, The Global Aerospace Leader. Empowering Innovation, Creating Success. The theme was carried throughout the exhibit on all graphics and displays.
