CCAT led a team of 18 Connecticut companies to the Farnborough Air Show in July 2010 -- part of a unique marketing opportunity designed to showcase Connecticut's world class aerospace suppliers at an international event. The air show was held from July 19 to July 25 in Hampshire, UK. This was the fifth Air Show Exhibit Program (ASEP) organized by CCAT. Other sponsors for this year's program were the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, the Community Development, and the Connecticut Light & Power Company.
Over the years, the ASEP has been a tremendous success. Since 2006, Connecticut companies report over $17 million in contracts received because they exhibited at the Air Shows. This year the exhibitors expect another $11M from the show over the next 12-18 months, making this year the most productive show yet. This year, the show drew more than 250,00 attendees and 1,500 exhibitors -- including all the major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) -- over a seven day span.
