Hybrids, Solar Power, Hydrogen Fuel Cells

Hybrid Cars
Pros: Hybrid cars are one of the most efficient of the car choices. Leading the way in alternative fuel vehicles, hybrids have the best fuel efficiency and are so far the most reliable car. Hybrid cars have already been put on the market and new models are being created every year.
Cons: There is not much to complain about when it comes to the hybrid except that Hybrids still use fossil fuels. This is done when more power is needed to climb a long hill or pass another car quickly. Still this little problem is just a tiny scratch on the Hybrids otherwise spotless creation. To counteract this flaw is the fact that hybrids use a rechargeable battery that recharges during the braking period no matter what source of power it uses. Click here for more about Hybrids.

Solar Powered Cars
Pros: Solar powered cars are one of the few cars that do not produce any greenhouse gases at all.
Cons: Solar power is a difficult power to collect and use, because of the need for large amounts of light. One major set back is the need for solar panels, to store the energy from the suns rays. Although solar power is one of the hardest forms of energy to store and use, one day it may be the solution to the energy problems of America.

Hydrogen Fuel Cells
Pros: Hydrogen can be found in many substances such as methanol, natural gas, and water, so attaining fuel would be more available. Hydrogen is more fuel efficient than traditional SUVs by 20 to 40%. Fuel cell cars are also quieter than internal combustion engines.
Cons: Hydrogen cars are still in the beginning stages of development and right now in 2007, we believe hydrogen fuel cells are not the best choice for alternative fuel. However, in a few years we believe Hydrogen fuel cells will be an excellent choice for alternative fuel vehicles. Click here to learn more about how a hydrogen fuel cell works.
