WORKSHOP SYNOPSIS:

Did you know that a high percentage of the time spent in an average process is Waste? Many new tools driven by Lean thinking have been introduced on the shop floor during the past few decades. Unfortunately, many of these tools have not made a big dent in the competitiveness of the enterprise. The objective of this course is to raise the consciousness of the people responsible for both production and non-production processes and to provide a hands-on learning experience to support their company efforts to reduce waste.

The Value Stream Mapping curriculum is a 1-day course that will examine Value Stream Mapping concepts in a modular format:
            Introduction to Lean concepts
Applying tools & concepts using Value Stream Mapping
How to get a Lean VSM effort started in your company

The course will use a combination of lecture, self-evaluation, discussion, case study, work breakouts, and real-world examples of how Value Stream Mapping applies to the real world.  At the conclusion, the students will have ability to recognize Waste in its various forms, understand how Value Stream Mapping can be applied, and be able to support a pilot effort at their company.
