WORKSHOP SYNOPSIS
The role of a supervisor or manager continues to become more and more complex in today's working environment. Previously it was typical for a manager or supervisor to be given a number of ongoing tasks for which they were responsible and a group of people to direct to get those things done. Today things are frequently not so simple. The interrelationships required between tasks have driven many to implementing the concepts of process management. The principles are similar to those leading the change from functional departments to flow lines.
Process management focuses on all of the sequential activities required to deliver a product or provide a service rather than a single function. The challenge is to optimize the overall process, not just each of the individual activities, in order to maximize the results. To assure long-term success, emphasis is required on both outcomes and methods.
The focus of this interactive workshop is to introduce the concepts, structure and skills that can support quality improvements through effective management of the processes by which our organizations get things done. Of particular emphasis will be the elements of key result areas, operating characteristics, work flow and continuous improvement. The workshop will include both short lecture segments and hands-on activities to illustrate the concepts or techniques. |
