I GOTTA BE A FACILITATOR, TOO!

Powerful Techniques for Facilitation

image

The art of managing the collaborative brain power and resources of a group to achieve a high level of results is sometimes called facilitation. A facilitator isn't the traditional "leadership" role, but rather a frequently even more difficult "supportive" function. As a facilitator you must constantly be aware of the process of the group. Not just what they are doing (the task), but how they are doing it, and be ready to offer techniques, suggestions, feedback, or interventions that will assist the group in continuing to work together effectively.

Using a constructive feedback process, you will have an opportunity to practice facilitation and receive personal feedback, as well as opportunities to observe and provide feedback to the other learners in your practice group.

Purpose: Our goal is to equip you with a strong knowledge of facilitation skills and tools and to provide practice time using what you learn in group simulations so you can facilitate/lead project teams with skill and effectiveness within your organization

Objectives:
You will grow in ability, skill and confidence as you:

1.Sharpen your understanding of facilitator roles and responsibilities
2.Practice Key facilitation techniques designed to maximize your effectiveness
3.Study specific adult learning principles that apply to facilitating groups
4.Complete a “Self  Impression Management” Inventory and then apply the results to fine tune your facilitation style
5.Learn what highly effective facilitators have discovered
6.Critique various facilitation styles
