Business Incubator & Rental Space
CCAT offers space at both its Pitkin Street facility and its Advanced Manufacturing Center on the UTRC Campus. Our tenants include high-tech start-ups and organizations that support entrepreneurship.
The intent of the SBIP legislation is to provide grant money directly to start-up companies housed in Connecticut incubator facilities. Funding is furnished for the purpose of easing the inherent high financial burden of growing a technology based business. The program is administered in partnership with the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) and applicants are reviewed on a first-come first-served basis.
- The program provides up to $30,000 in grant money for a company to perform a discreet project intended to help move it forward with is growth plan.
- SBIP encourages startups to locate in business incubators where they can take advantage of many programs and services designed to help companies grow and succeed.
- The goal of the program is to stimulate growth and development of technology based businesses in the state; ultimately contributing to Connecticut’s economy through the creation of jobs and revenue.
